Description

Černínský palace is a huge baroque building located at famous Hradčany opposite to equally Loreta. Sicne 1934 it serves as a seat of Ministery of Foreign Affairs. The Palace along with its garden is since 1958 protected as a Cultural Monument of the Czech Republic. The palace itself has a gloomy history - during Protecotare years of 1939-1945 it served as headquarters of the Reichsprotektor and on 10th March 1948 has died, for unexplained reasons, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Masaryk, who used to live there. In the beginning of the 90's it was here where the Warsaw Pact was dismissed.
